The American Carbon Registry (ACR) is a nonprofit enterprise of Winrock International that operates a global carbon crediting program, registering and validating emission reductions and removals and issuing serialized credits in both compliance and voluntary markets. It develops science-based standards, methodologies, and tools (ACR Standard, ACR Methodologies) to ensure credits are real, additional, permanent and independently verified. ACR collaborates with major programs such as California Cap-and-Trade, ICAO CORSIA, Washington State Cap-and-Invest and Colorado Methane Reduction, and has issued more than 356 million tons of CO2e credits across hundreds of projects.
