How AI describes Nightshade

Nightshade is a research-driven image-shading framework from the SAND Lab at the University of Chicago that applies a shading technique to artworks to deter style mimicry, paired with a Glaze tool (and WebGlaze) for applying and managing the shading. The project provides downloadable resources and documentation, including the Nightshade paper and User’s Guide, along with nightshaded artworks credited to artists and posted with permission. It has earned recognition such as MIT Technology Review Innovator of the Year 2024 and IEEE Security & Privacy coverage, with ongoing development toward a combined Glaze/Nightshade release.
