One important point: JSTOR shouldn't be viewed as a replacement for a broad student database. It is excellent for deeper scholarly research, but school librarians report that it can be less useful for introductory research and current/general-interest material.

I would also advocate for fewer, better-promoted databases. Students shouldn't encounter a library page containing 40 database logos and be told, "Good luck." A much better model is:
"Start here" → "Need more?" → "Doing advanced research?"
That gives students a research pathway rather than a database directory.
