Mordor's current Vietnam EMS market analysis specifically identifies Samsung, Hon Hai/Foxconn, Luxshare-ICT, Pegatron and Compal as leading industry participants.
Foxconn is the clear heavyweight. Its Vietnam operations span Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh, and it manufactures products/components associated with Apple and other major technology companies. Current industry sources characterize it as Vietnam's largest electronics manufacturing operation.
Foxconn is particularly attractive if you're talking about very high-volume consumer hardware: laptops, tablets, wearables, gaming hardware, accessories, etc.
Luxshare-ICT has become one of the most important challengers to Foxconn in Vietnam. Its Vietnamese operations are concentrated in Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Nghe An, with major exposure to Apple's supply chain.
It's particularly strong in AirPods, wearables, acoustic products, connectors and precision electronics. Vietnam is an increasingly important manufacturing base for Luxshare, although China remains much larger overall.
Goertek is another major Apple supplier and is especially interesting for audio, acoustic components, AirPods, AR/VR and wearable electronics.
Goertek's first Vietnam project dates back to 2013, and its Vietnam footprint has subsequently expanded. Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade identifies Goertek among the important electronics manufacturers producing Apple-related products in the country.
Pegatron operates a major manufacturing complex in Hai Phong. Its capabilities cover computing, networking and consumer-electronics assembly, including procurement through final assembly/testing.
Pegatron is particularly relevant if your product looks like a computer, tablet, networking device or sophisticated consumer-electronics system rather than a simple accessory.
Wistron and Compal Electronics are important Taiwanese ODMs with Vietnam manufacturing operations.
They're particularly relevant for computing products, communications equipment, IoT and related electronics. Wistron has also been expanding its Vietnam networking-equipment manufacturing capacity.
Jabil and Flex are worth considering if you mean EMS in the traditional sense—PCBA, box build, systems integration, testing, supply-chain management, and lifecycle manufacturing—rather than specifically the giant Apple-style ODMs.
They tend to be more diversified across industrial, networking, medical, automotive and consumer electronics, so they're potentially better fits for a company that isn't already an enormous consumer-electronics brand.
Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) has a 65,000 m² facility in Hai Phong and initially focused there on SiP modules for wearable products. USI explicitly describes its Vietnam business as supporting EMS/ODM/JDM requirements and serving consumer, wireless, computer/storage and other electronics markets.
Wonderful Saigon Electrics is less globally famous than Foxconn but potentially quite interesting. It describes itself as one of southern Vietnam's largest Japanese-owned EMS providers, with a 50,000 m² facility and 40+ SMT lines, offering everything from PCBA through final-product assembly. It has substantial experience with smartphone camera modules and consumer electronics.
If you're looking for a CM for a new consumer-electronics product, rather than simply asking who has the biggest factory, I'd divide the landscape like this:
One important distinction: Samsung and LG are enormous manufacturers in Vietnam, but I would not put them in the same competitive bucket as Foxconn or Jabil if you're looking for a CM to manufacture your product. They primarily manufacture their own branded products.
If you're evaluating Vietnam CMs for an actual product you want manufactured, I can also narrow this down to the 10–15 most realistic suppliers by product type, approximate scale/MOQ, location, capabilities, and likely willingness to take on a new customer.

Vietnam has rapidly evolved into one of the world’s premier hardware and consumer electronics manufacturing hubs , driven by supply-chain diversification away from China. The landscape is dominated by massive global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers, original design manufacturers (ODMs), and giant brand-manufacturers.
The leading contract manufacturers and EMS providers operating major consumer electronics footprints in Vietnam include:
If you are looking to source or partner, let me know:
I can help narrow down which of these providers aligns best with your production requirements.
Yes. If by contract manufacturer (CM) you mean an EMS/ODM that actually builds finished consumer-electronics products for global brands—not merely component suppliers—Vietnam's leading group is fairly concentrated.
| Company | Vietnam footprint / strength | Consumer-electronics sweet spot | Typical model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foxconn (Hon Hai) | Very large northern Vietnam footprint | iPhone/iPad/Mac-related products, computers, peripherals, consumer devices | EMS / JDM / ODM |
| Luxshare-ICT | Large plants in Bắc Ninh, Bắc Giang and Nghệ An | AirPods, wearables, acoustic products, connectivity products | EMS / ODM / JDM |
| Goertek | Major Bắc Ninh/Nghệ An operations | AirPods/earbuds, acoustic and VR/AR devices | ODM / EMS |
| Pegatron | Large Hải Phòng campus | PCs, tablets, smartphones, consumer electronics | ODM / EMS |
| Compal | Northern Vietnam | Laptops, tablets, smartphones and other computing devices | ODM |
| Wistron | Expanding northern Vietnam footprint | PCs, networking/electronics | ODM / EMS |
| Quanta Computer | Northern Vietnam | Laptops, servers and computing hardware | ODM |
| BYD Electronics | Growing Vietnam presence | Consumer electronics, components and assemblies | EMS / ODM |
| USI (Universal Scientific Industrial) | Hải Phòng | Wearables, SiP modules, wireless/computing electronics | EMS / ODM / JDM |
| Jabil / Flex | Vietnam manufacturing operations | Electronics assemblies, consumer/industrial products | EMS |
The first five—Foxconn, Luxshare, Goertek, Pegatron and Compal—are the names I'd put at the top of the list for high-volume consumer electronics. Recent industry analysis similarly identifies Samsung, Foxconn, Luxshare, Pegatron and Compal as the leading Vietnam EMS players.
Foxconn is probably the #1 pure-play CM to investigate. Its Vietnam operations cover SMT, assembly, testing, NPI, reliability engineering and OEM/JDM/ODM services, including consumer electronics and wearables.
Luxshare and Goertek are particularly important if you're talking about small, sophisticated consumer devices. Both have become major Apple suppliers in Vietnam, especially around AirPods/acoustic products and related electronics. Apple's Vietnam supply chain includes both companies, and Reuters has highlighted Foxconn and other suppliers as central to Apple's growing Vietnam manufacturing base.
Pegatron, Compal, Wistron and Quanta skew more toward computing. JETRO's recent survey of Vietnam's electronics supply chain identifies Foxconn, Wistron, Compal and Pegatron as major Taiwanese manufacturers there, with products including notebooks, smartphones and other electronics; Quanta is also a significant northern-Vietnam operation.
USI is worth knowing for smaller/highly integrated products. Its Hải Phòng facility produces SiP modules for wearable electronics and was explicitly designed to support EMS/ODM/JDM business.
One caveat: Samsung is enormous in Vietnam, but I wouldn't classify Samsung Electronics Vietnam as a conventional third-party CM. It primarily manufactures Samsung's own products. Likewise, LG is a major electronics manufacturer but isn't normally what you'd mean by a merchant contract manufacturer.
If you were evaluating Vietnam CMs for a new consumer-electronics product, I'd start with:
For context, Foxconn, Wistron, Quanta, Luxshare, Pegatron, Jabil, Flex, BYD, Compal, Inventec and Goertek all rank among the world's largest EMS/ODM companies, so the Vietnam operations of these firms aren't small local assemblers—they're pieces of global manufacturing networks.
If you're asking this from a sourcing/market-entry perspective, I can also break these down by estimated Vietnam capacity, major customers (Apple/Google/Microsoft/Sony/etc.), product categories, locations, and whether they're willing to take on a smaller/new brand—which produces a much more useful CM shortlist.
Foxconn is probably the #1 pure-play CM to investigate. Its Vietnam operations cover SMT, assembly, testing, NPI, reliability engineering and OEM/JDM/ODM services, including consumer electronics and wearables.

Vietnam has rapidly emerged as a premier global hub for electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and original design manufacturing (ODM), driven by supply chain diversification away from China.
The leading contract manufacturers and major electronics producers operating massive assembly ecosystems in Vietnam fall into several distinct tiers:
If you are looking into a specific project, let me know:
I can help narrow down which of these manufacturers or smaller specialized EMS providers best fit your scale.
Yes. Vietnam has become a major consumer-electronics manufacturing / EMS-ODM hub, particularly for Apple and other global brands. The leading players are concentrated in northern Vietnam.
| Company | Vietnam footprint | Main consumer-electronics capabilities | Typical customer exposure |
|---|---|---|---|

| Luxshare-ICT | Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Nghe An | AirPods/earbuds, wearables, acoustics, connectors, smart devices | Apple, Meta and others |
| Goertek | Bac Ninh, Nghe An | TWS/earbuds, acoustic modules, wearables, VR/AR devices | Apple, Sony, Meta and others |
| Pegatron | Hai Phong | PCs, tablets, telecom equipment, electronics assembly | Apple, Microsoft and others |
| Compal | Vietnam's northern provinces | Notebooks, tablets, smartphones, displays/electronics | Major PC/mobile brands |
| Wistron | Northern Vietnam | PCs, networking equipment, electronics | Global PC/networking customers |
| Quanta Computer | Nam Dinh / northern Vietnam | Notebooks, servers and computing hardware | Apple and major PC/cloud customers |
| BYD Electronics | Northern Vietnam | Smartphones/tablets and electronics assembly/components | Apple and other global brands |
| Jabil | Ho Chi Minh City | Broad EMS: electronics, industrial/consumer products, box-build | Diversified global OEMs |
| Samsung Electronics Vietnam | Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, HCMC | Smartphones, displays, wearables, appliances | Primarily Samsung's own products rather than third-party EMS |
The first seven are especially important if by "contract manufacturer" you mean an ODM/EMS capable of taking a consumer-electronics product through substantial assembly and manufacturing, rather than simply component suppliers.
1. Foxconn — probably the most important overall.
Foxconn is by far the largest-scale EMS player. Its Vietnamese operations span five provinces and reportedly employ 100,000+ people. Its Vietnam production includes mobile-device components, routers, cameras, displays and other electronics. Foxconn also says its Bac Giang facility became Vietnam's first World Economic Forum Lighthouse Factory.
2. Luxshare-ICT — particularly strong for small consumer electronics.
Luxshare is one of the most strategically important Apple suppliers in Vietnam, with capabilities around AirPods, wearables, acoustic products, connectors and highly integrated assemblies. Its own materials emphasize vertically integrated components → modules → system assembly.
3. Goertek — standout for audio/wearables/AR-VR.
Goertek has become a major Vietnam manufacturing base for earbuds and acoustic electronics, with expansion into wearables and immersive devices. It is one of the major Apple suppliers with Vietnamese production.
4. Pegatron — strong for computing and larger electronics.
Its Hai Phong operation is geared toward notebook/computing and telecom electronics. It is a logical candidate for larger box-build products rather than tiny components.
5. Compal / Quanta / Wistron — particularly relevant for PCs and computing.
These Taiwan ODMs have followed the China+1 migration into Vietnam. JETRO identifies Foxconn, Wistron, Compal, Pegatron and Quanta as significant Taiwan-linked electronics manufacturers in Vietnam, with products ranging from notebooks to smartphones and other electronics.
I'd divide the Vietnamese market into three groups:
Apple-style high-volume ODM/EMS
Traditional diversified EMS
Captive OEM manufacturing
The distinction matters because Samsung and LG, for example, are enormous electronics manufacturers in Vietnam but generally aren't competing for outside brands' contract-manufacturing programs in the same way Foxconn or Jabil does.
A 2026 industry survey also puts Samsung, Foxconn, Luxshare, Pegatron and Compal at the top of Vietnam's EMS market, while broader industry lists include Jabil, Flex, Wistron, Inventec, Quanta, Lite-On, Sanmina and Celestica.
My practical shortlist would be:
Foxconn → Luxshare → Goertek → Pegatron → Compal → Quanta/Wistron → Jabil/Flex
—but the right choice depends heavily on the product. For example:
Vietnam's importance is increasing rapidly: ASEAN's 2025 investment/supply-chain review specifically notes Foxconn moving iPad production to Vietnam, Foxconn beginning MacBook production there, Luxshare and Foxconn producing Apple Watch-related products, and Goertek expanding AirPods production.
If you tell me what type of consumer electronics you have in mind (e.g., earbuds, smart home, wearable, display, laptop, appliance, IoT device) and approximate annual volume, I can narrow this to 5–10 Vietnamese CMs that are actually plausible suppliers, including their factories, capabilities, estimated scale, and known customer/product programs.
Vietnam has rapidly evolved into a primary global hub for Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM), driven by major supply chain shifts . The leading contract manufacturers (CMs) for consumer electronics operating major production hubs in the country include:
If you'd like, let me know:
I can help narrow down which of these manufacturers or tier-2 alternatives best fit your scale.
Vietnam has become one of Asia’s most important consumer-electronics contract manufacturing (CM/EMS/ODM) hubs, particularly for Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Sony and other global brands. Contract manufacturing represented about 62% of Vietnam’s EMS market revenue in 2025, with consumer electronics the largest end-use segment at roughly 38%.
| Company | Vietnam footprint | Consumer-electronics strengths | My take |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foxconn (Hon Hai) | Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh | iPad, MacBook, AirPods-related products, gaming, computing | #1 for scale |
| Luxshare-ICT | Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Nghe An | AirPods, wearables, acoustic products, AR/VR | Top-tier Apple/consumer CM |
| Goertek | Bac Ninh, Nghe An | Audio, AirPods, VR/AR, wearables | Excellent for audio/wearables |
| Samsung Electronics Vietnam | Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, HCMC | Smartphones, displays, batteries, consumer electronics | Huge manufacturing base, but largely captive |
| Pegatron | Hai Phong | PCs, tablets, networking, consumer electronics | Major Apple/PC-oriented ODM/CM |
| Compal | Vietnam operations, principally northern Vietnam | PCs, monitors, consumer electronics | Major computing ODM |
| Wistron | Vietnam, with expanding northern operations | PCs, networking/electronics | Growing ODM/EMS presence |
| Inventec | Vietnam | PCs, servers, electronics | Strong computing ODM |
| Jabil | Ho Chi Minh City area | Electronics assembly, box-build, industrial/consumer electronics | Good global EMS option |
| Flex | Vietnam | Electronics, systems, components, supply-chain services | Broad EMS capabilities |
The strongest cluster for high-volume consumer devices is arguably Foxconn + Luxshare + Goertek + Pegatron, while Compal/Wistron/Inventec are especially relevant if your product is computing-oriented. Industry sources consistently identify Foxconn, Luxshare, Pegatron, Samsung and Compal among Vietnam's leading EMS players.
Foxconn has the deepest consumer-electronics manufacturing footprint in Vietnam. Its Vietnamese facilities are associated with products including Apple iPads and MacBooks, and Vietnam has become an important part of Apple's broader supply chain.
Its advantages are scale, procurement power, automation, NPI experience, quality systems and ability to ramp very large programs. The downside is that a smaller or early-stage brand may have difficulty getting the same attention as a major global customer.
Luxshare has become one of the most important new-generation consumer-electronics CMs in Vietnam. Its Vietnam operations focus heavily on Apple-related products, acoustic components, wearables and other precision electronics.
I'd put Luxshare very close to Foxconn if you're talking specifically about small, complex, high-volume consumer devices rather than general industrial EMS.
Goertek is particularly interesting for audio, microphones, speakers, wearables, AR/VR and other human-interface products. Vietnam was one of its earliest overseas manufacturing locations, beginning with a facility in Bac Ninh.
For a product such as earbuds, headphones, smart glasses, VR hardware or a wearable, I'd put Goertek on the shortlist immediately.
Pegatron is a major Taiwanese ODM/CM with a significant factory complex in Hai Phong. It is particularly relevant for computers, tablets, telecom/networking equipment and consumer electronics. Pegatron's own reporting describes its business as combining product design, R&D, manufacturing and technical support.
These three are especially important if "consumer electronics" includes notebooks, PCs, servers, networking equipment and related hardware.
They are classic Taiwanese ODMs: they can do considerably more than simply assemble a customer's supplied BOM. For the right customer, they can participate in design, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing and product introduction.
If you're looking for a CM for your own consumer-electronics brand, I would divide the landscape this way:
Ultra-high volume / major-brand scale
PC / computing ODM
Broad EMS / turnkey manufacturing
Specialized consumer devices
One important caveat: Samsung Electronics Vietnam is enormous but isn't really an independent CM you would normally approach to manufacture a third-party consumer brand's product. It's primarily Samsung's own captive manufacturing operation. Likewise, some of the Taiwanese ODMs have historically been much more oriented toward large established customers than startups.
If you're evaluating these companies as potential suppliers, I can also give you a ranked list of ~15 Vietnam CMs specifically by (1) willingness to work with startups, (2) minimum volumes, (3) product categories, (4) engineering/NPI capability, and (5) likely manufacturing locations.

Yes. If by “contract manufacturers” you mean companies that manufacture finished consumer-electronics products for third-party brands (OEM/ODM/EMS), rather than Vietnamese component suppliers, the leading names in Vietnam are fairly concentrated.
| Company | Vietnam footprint | Consumer-electronics strengths | Typical positioning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foxconn (Hon Hai) | Bac Ninh/Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Nghe An and elsewhere | Smartphones/components, tablets, PCs, accessories, networking; major Apple ecosystem manufacturing | Largest / broadest-scale CM |
| Luxshare-ICT | Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Nghe An | AirPods, wearables, acoustic products, precision components, assemblies | Top-tier Apple/consumer-electronics CM |
| Goertek | Bac Ninh, Nghe An | Hearables, headphones, speakers, AR/VR, wearables, smart hardware | Particularly strong in audio/wearables |
| Pegatron | Hai Phong | Computers, communications equipment, consumer electronics | Large Apple/PC/communications CM |
| Compal | Vietnam operations, particularly northern Vietnam | PCs, notebooks, networking/communications electronics | PC/networking specialist |
| Wistron | Vietnam | PCs, networking and electronics | Computing/networking-oriented |
| Quanta | Vietnam | Computers, servers and related electronics | High-volume computing/ODM |
| BYD Electronics | Vietnam | Electronics assembly, components, smartphones/tablets and other hardware | Large vertically integrated Chinese ODM/CM |
Industry-market sources currently identify Foxconn, Samsung Electronics Vietnam, Luxshare-ICT, Pegatron and Compal among the major Vietnam EMS players.
I'd put them roughly into these tiers:
Tier 1 — the names I'd investigate first
Tier 2 — very significant, but more product/sector-specific 5. Compal 6. Wistron 7. Quanta 8. BYD Electronics
Foxconn is in a category of its own in terms of scale. Foxconn describes itself as the world's largest electronics manufacturer, with consumer electronics as one of its four major product pillars; its Vietnam organization says it has 100,000+ employees across its Vietnamese operations.
Luxshare and Goertek are especially interesting if your target product is a small, sophisticated consumer device. Goertek, for example, has capabilities spanning precision components, acoustics, optics, molds, injection molding, surface treatment and final assembly, and explicitly focuses on VR/AR, wearables and hearables. www.goertek.com Its Vietnam footprint includes Bac Ninh and Nghe An.
I would not put Samsung Electronics Vietnam and LG Electronics Vietnam in the same category if your objective is to find a CM that will manufacture your product. They are enormous consumer-electronics manufacturers in Vietnam, but primarily manufacture their own branded products rather than acting as merchant contract manufacturers for outside brands.
Vietnam is particularly strong for Apple-adjacent manufacturing: Foxconn, Luxshare and Goertek have all become important parts of Apple's Vietnam supply chain, with Vietnam increasingly used for AirPods, iPads, Mac-related products and associated components.
The ranking changes considerably depending on what you're making. For example:
If you tell me what consumer-electronics product you're considering, expected annual volume, and whether you need ODM/design help or just manufacturing, I can narrow this to the 5–10 Vietnamese CMs that are actually realistic prospects, including factory locations, capabilities, known customers, approximate scale, and whether they work with smaller/new brands.
Vietnam has experienced a massive influx of global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs)—often referred to broadly as contract manufacturers (CMs)—as major technology brands diversify their supply chains.
